Does acupuncture hurt?
Well, Yes and No! Yes because the pain receptors are in the skin, so you do feel the needles when they are inserted. No because the needles are so tiny, about the thickness of a human hair, that there is usually just a slight amount of pain, or not much at all.
Are the needles sterile?
Yes, they are sterile, disposable needles.
How often do I need acupuncture treatments?
That depends on the problem and what else can be done to help it, as well as the true cause of the condition. That is discussed in the first visit so that you are as clear as possible about your treatment plan.
What else do you do during a visit?
During a visit I try to give you as much information as possible about the causes and treatments for your condition. I review what you have tried and determine a plan for your care which is comprehensive to help you get well in the shortest possible time.
Have you treated my condition before?
Chances are the answer is YES. I have been in practice long enough to have seen a great number of cases which are likely similar to you. Experience can greatly aid in a speedy recovery or positive outcome.
Can I talk to you before I make an appointment?
Yes, a brief telephone consultation to determine if you can be accepted as a patient is free.
